The Prime Challenge issued by
“You’ve probably heard by now that “Prime Day” is July 8-11 over at the “rainforest” site. I say we celebrate differently. Make it a point to take (and hopefully, share) a photo using a prime lens this week.” To see original post go to his page.A prime lens is a fixed distance lens. Mine is 50mm and I find it my most intimidating. Why? I’m not sure. Maybe because it is my most powerful lens. I have trouble getting the light and focus right because the f-stop goes to 1.2. I tend to over use it because I like the background blur but it will also blur parts of the subject. So this challenge is very appealing to me.
Instead of taking just one photo I took several. Same prime lens different distances from subject and different settings.

Just a bunch of cows
A picture of a dog with a new haircut - just because!
If you don’t already follow Jason I highly recommend you do. He is a fantastic photographer.
As for me I’m still learning from looking at other photographers work and taking many throw away shots. Each shot I learn a little something new so I don’t consider them a waste. (Thank goodness for digital cameras)
Keep shooting and thanks for looking!

For me the cow in profile is an outstanding picture – the colours, the light & of course her gaze 🤩💚🙏.
